Scar Tissue Mobilization
A therapeutic taping technique which alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin.
What You Can Expect
The goal of scar tissue mobilization is to help organize the tissue by using the body’s own healing process to aide in the re-alignment of tissue fibers to be more in line with the tissue pull and stretch in and around the scar region.
Your body continues to re-organize scars throughout your lifetime, with the most remodeling done in the first 3 months, then 6 months, and finally the ending of first year.
Types of scar tissue mobilization with and without instrument assist:
- Parallel scar mobilization
- Circle scar mobilization
- Cross-friction massage
- Dry needling
